Grander Purpose

"We're not going to bail our way out of this crisis, we're not going to stimulate our way out of this crisis, we are only going to educate, ultimately, and imagine and invent our way out of this crisis."

--Thomas L. Friedman, Meet the Press

Here's the thing: when you buy in to a higher purpose for doing something, it really helps you cut out the wasted motion, stop making excuses, and communicate your vision more effectively.

If you do believe that you and your kids/students were born to make a difference - even to "imagine and invent our country out of its crisis" - have you communicated that conviction to them? Both in word and deed?

What's the best way to do that?

Are they conscious of the types of crisis that their particular genius could resolve? ...Of the people that could be blessed by their contributions?

Are you?
