Taking Your Boy's Temperature

"There comes a time in every rightly constructed boy's life when he has a raging desire to go somewhere and dig for hidden treasure."
-Mark Twain

Mark Twain seems to have some pretty strong opinions about what characterizes a "rightly constructed boy's life".

What do you think? Is he right?

We sort of think so.

So then we have to ask ourselves, as mother and father of three boys, how we are doing on the rightly-constructed boy's life.
  • Do our boys have a raging desire to go somewhere and dig for hidden treasure?
  • What do they have a raging desire to do?
  • Do they have a raging desire?
  • Perhaps one we haven't detected?
  • Does this desire serve them, or is it unhealthy? How to know the difference? How to facilitate the raging desires that drive them to become a good man, and how to help them choose....

Worthy musings for a year-end Inventory.

"More than just a book to read, it is a book to own and to return to again and again."

-Janiece Sloan

"...[a] practical and detailed outline! After studying The Phases of Learning, I felt as if I understood my children more deeply."

-Nanette Baker

Leadership Education helps explain the stages that everyone needs to go through to fulfill their mission in life (that includes parents, too!). I love that suggestions of activities are included so that those just beginning this TJEd journey can get their feet wet and be mentored along the way. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

-Bente Rodriguez

Often cited by the DeMilles as their favorite work to date, this inspirational manual picks up where the primer/overview work, A Thomas Jefferson Education, leaves off.

It develops in depth not only the philosophy but also the nuts-and-bolts application of each individual Phase, the critical Transitions between Phases and the "big-picture" vision to begin with the end in mind.

Those who master the content in this book leave behind the question, "But how do you actually DO it?"
